I had no way of measuring the temps at this elevation...but trust me; it was so cold that I decided to keep my helmet on! This rocky and steep trail provided a good workout though, and before long; my body felt warm and comfortable.

I finally made it to Mazourka Canyon, and took this spur trail that led to this flat overlooking the Sierras to the west.

The view was remarkable, in the far and to the left; the Owen's dry lake is visible as a thin white line.
