Cuddeback Dry Lake
The next day, Friday Nov. 3ed.Arnel and Stan were camped nearby at an RV park just south of Lone Pine. They were to ride with their family and kids in the morning and then later in the afternoon, we were supposed to meet and do the Hogback Creek and George Creek trails. We were on the bikes by 2:30 PM and had about two hours of daylight.
These pictures were taken on Hogback Creek, which is a fun single track at the Alabama Hills area... Arnel was riding a KTM LC4 400cc (Top picture) and Stan was riding a Honda XR400 (above picture)...
I wish we had more time, so I can take more pictures...but because of what little daylight we had, I decided to concentrate on riding and enjoying the trails.
Stan and Arnel at the start of George Creek Trail, which led up to the slopes of the Eastern Sierra Nevada.
Arnel was an experienced ride with many outings under his belt, including Kennedy Meadows and Baja...Stan was a MotoCross racer and this was his first 'trail' ride. He did exceptionally well despite the challenging and rocky terrain.
Stan and myself right at the top of George Creek, this vantage point afforded incredible views in all directions.
Looking in an easterly direction towards the Alabama Hills and further back the Inyo Mountains where the old mining town of Cerro Gordo is nestled.
