Burro Schmidt's Tunnel & Last Chance Canyon
Beautifull scenery from the Tunnel location, way in the distance is the crust of the Sierra Nevada. I was following Tom on the way up, and he was going fast (I mean Bloody Fast) so I get pulled over by this angry man in a brand new white Ford F150. He literally blocked my way, that's how bad he wanted me to stop! Asked me if I was riding with this biker that just passed him, so I said yeah! And then, the bombshell came: "your buddy just showered my brand new truck with rocks and boulders" @$%**&@#....All I could say was Sorry! But from now on, my answer will be: What rider? Naw..him..I don't know him!
We kept a watchfull eye for that angry man in the F 150, he never made it up the hill, we laughed and joked on what to do or say if he ever showed up with his 12 guage shotgun. I think that was the moment when Tom decided to take us back through Last Chance Canyon, a rugged, rocky, washy trail that traverses Red Rock Canyon State Park. It was either that or the mad
F-150 driver, lurking around the corner with a shotgun awaiting Tom's return!
Gearing to enter the Tunnel, I was scared of leaving the bikes out unattended, just in case that F-150 driver shows up and decides to ram them over the hill! We were the only orange colored bikes out there, and if sparks can fly out of that angry man's eyes, bullets may just go off, aim at orange, shoot'em all, let the bike God sort'em out!
