The background shows some awesome single track trails on the hills, right in the vacinity of Randsburg. |

Closing in at the Tunnel; Henry "Burro" Schmidt moved to the West prospecting for Gold in the El Paso mountains. For thirty two years, beginning in 1906, he hand dug, drilled and blasted his way through a rocky and rugged mountain looking for Gold! He reached the far end in 1938 but found no Gold. Burro Schmidt died in 1954 and is burried in Johannesburg cemetery. The Tunnel is 2,094 foot long, and many people walk through it, at their own risk! |
